Marga Richter

Marga Richter (b. 1925) is an American composer known for her contributions to contemporary classical music. Born in Germany, she emigrated to the United States in 1938, where she later studied at the Manhattan School of Music and with prominent composers such as Paul Hindemith and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. Richter’s work spans a variety of genres, including orchestral, chamber, and vocal music, often characterized by her innovative use of harmony and form.
